Working together respectfully to achieve our very best

Camps & Excursions
A comprehensive camps & excursion programme is offered at Jamieson Primary School. Every year the High Country Cluster of schools (Merrijig & Jamieson) provides a 5-day camp for children in Grades 3-6. Destinations in recent years have been Canberra as part of a Civics & Citizenship focus, Queenscliff, Tooma, Bendigo and Sovereign Hill in Ballarat with a two-day costume school experience.
For 2020 the camp will be at Cottage By The Sea in beautiful Queenscliff.
Prep-Grade 2 students participate in an annual overnight camp. The students have attended Camp Billabong in Echuca and in 2014, as part of their Transport theme, they went to Melbourne. The Life Education program takes place at Merrijig P.S. and we always make the day into a Group Day.
Excursions are arranged to complement and broaden the classroom delivery of the curriculum and are well supported by the parents, who usually assist with transport to these places & events.
The new excursion is our in-country trip to Japan, to be held every even numbered year.
It will be open to students in Grades 5 & 6.

Library Van
The Library Van provides a qualified teacher delivering library books and a lesson to the students once a fortnight. The students are able to access a wide range of reading and multi-media for enjoyment and as a resource. Teachers also have access to reference materials and teaching sets. This service is fee-paying and the rate for each child is $35 per year, payable in Term One.

Life Education Program
The Life Education Program is designed to empower our children and young people to make safer and healthier choices through education. Specially trained educators present vital health and safety messaging through tactile and multisensory activities. Each session is designed to intrigue and excite children of all ages, which captures their imagination and has a lasting impact! Joined by Life Education's loveable mascot Healthy Harold, our educators bring to life lessons that empower children to make safer and healthier choices, now and in the future. This program is held annually.
