Meet Hannah Madin - Our new Principal
I am thrilled to be embarking this year as the principal of Jamieson Primary. I grew up near Merrijig before living in Perth, Berlin, Tanzania, Beirut, Sydney and Central Australia. Leaving the desert to come ‘home’ was the best decision I could have made and has brought me to this wonderful community and school.
My teaching background is almost entirely in small schools. I love the sense of connection such places foster. I have also benefited from the professional opportunities of larger primary schools and spent a year as a teaching and learning coach with the NT Education Department, roving throughout Central Australia. I am passionate about relationships-based learning, integrated curriculum and sparking a lifelong love of learning.
Many, many thanks to Genevieve for generously sitting with me for the past two weeks and answering endless questions about the school and community. I’m delighted and honoured to be taking stewardship of this beautiful and characterful school. I’m looking forward to meeting the whole school community and working together to achieve our very best.
I’m very excited about ringing the bell at 9am on Thursday and getting stuck into learning. Please ensure students have a healthy lunch and snack as well as a water bottle.
