Volunteering

Involvement in schools by parents and carers helps children achieve the best possible learning outcomes. At Jamieson Primary School we have a number of parent and community volunteers involved with our school and always welcome more people to come and be a valued part of our great school.

We appreciate that not all parents have the time to commit to helping out in their child’s class.  However there are a number of ways parents or carers can be involved, including helping out on an excursion, our school production, at sports events, working bees or one of our special days throughout the year.

We encourage families to speak with their child’s teacher to ask about ways that they can assist and community volunteers are welcome to contact our school office to also enquire about ways to be involved with our school.

Being involved at any level is worthwhile.  It is so gratefully appreciated by our school and ultimately so wonderful for our students.

If you are interested in volunteering you will be required to hold a Working with Children Check (WWC) , which aims to keep our children safe by preventing those who pose a risk to the safety of children from working with them in either a paid or volunteer capacity.  Applying for a WWC is very easy and a volunteer WWC is free.
